Cam Rackam is best known for the album art he creates for the band Avenged Sevenfold. However, this is only a glimpse into the catalogue of works he has built as a fine artist.
While his subject matter often rides the line between high renaissance and the macabre, his process reveals inspiration from masters such as Caravaggio, Degas, Bernini and Dali. His repertoire does not end with his oil paintings, as Cam is also an accomplished sculptor. In addition to stand alone sculptures, his craftsmanship can be seen as an accompaniment to each of his paintings. Each frame is individually designed and hand sculpted to complement the respective work.
The art of Cam Rackam will be on display at Afterlife Gallery in NY beginning January 20th, 2018.
